Get your saved places out of Google Maps

Google doesn't offer a way to pull your saved places automatically, but you can export them yourself with Google Takeout (Google's official data-export tool) in about 2 minutes:

  1. Go to takeout.google.com (sign in with the Google account your saved places are on).
  2. Click Deselect all, then find and check Maps (your places).
  3. Click the item to expand it β€” if it lets you choose data types, make sure Saved Places is checked (uncheck Reviews/Photos etc. if you don't want them).
  4. Click Next step, choose .zip, then Create export. Google emails you a download link (usually within a few minutes).
  5. Unzip the download. Look inside for a folder like Takeout/Maps (your places)/Saved Places/ β€” it contains files such as Favorites.csv, Want to go.csv, or Saved Places.json.
  6. Drop those files below (you can select several at once).
